6th International Women's Polo Tourney : Manipur-A vs South Africa in final clash

Hosts Manipur-A will lock horns with South Africa in the title clash of the 6th International Women's Polo Tournament organised by Manipur Tourism in association with All Manipur Polo Association at Mapal Kangjeibung.
Manipur-A defeated Manipur-B 13-2 in a crucial league encounter today to seal a place in the final before South Africa completed the league campaign sweep with an 11-1 demolition of Luxembourg.
In the Manipur-A vs Manipur-B clash, M Priya led the scoring for the winners scoring 5 goals alone as captain Kh Deventy and Kh Habe added four goals each.
Both the goals for Manipur B were scored by M Bijenty.
Kh Habe opened the scoring for Manipur-A in the 4th minute before Kh Deventy found her first in the next minute to give Manipur-A a 2-0 first chukker lead.
Star of the match, M Priya added twice within 6 minutes of the second chukker and Kh Deventy scored one in the second minute to make it 5-0 before M Bijenty pulled one back in the final moment of the chukker.
The third chukker saw Priya adding twice, Kh Deventy adding one and Habe scoring twice to hand Manipur-A a 10-1 lead before the three players chipped in a goal apiece in the final chukker which also witnessed M Bijenty scoring her second and Manipur-B's final goal.
Later in the day, red hot South Africa women topped the league round with 11-1 crushing of Luxembourg courtesy trebles from Vermaak Alida Brenda, Santini Julianne and Amy Michelle Gace.
Vermaak Alida found the opener before the minute mark before Santini added twice and Amy Michelle Gace added one to give South Africa a 4-0 first chukker lead.
As Luxembourg remained clueless in the second chukker, South Africa pumped in four more goals through Tessa Lela Sara Moxon struck twice and Amy Michelle and Vermak Alida scored a goal apiece.
Poggel Brigita Antonie scored the face-saving goal for Luxembourg in the third minute of the third chukker before Amy Michelle had her third in the last minute to make it 9-1 after three chukkers.
Santini Julianne and Amy Michelle then found a goal each in the last chukker to wrap up the game 11-1 .
The final match is scheduled tomorrow at 2 pm .
