Imphal, February 19 2023:
Shiv Sena Manipur State led by its president M Tombi has hailed the ruling of the Election Commission of India (ECI) permitting the Shiv Sena party led by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde to use the party's official name and symbol 'Bow and Arrow'.
Addressing a press meet at the party's office, Babupara, here, on Sunday, M Tombi said that the confusion amongst the general people for the past 7-8 months after a national political party like Shiv Sena split into two has been cleared by a ruling of the Supreme Court.
The decree of the apex court recognised the Shiv Sena party led by Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde as the true party and designated its symbol as the Bow and Arrow', which was further affirmed by ECI.
Thus, Tombi urged other groups in the state not to use the party 's name and symbol, while extending a warm welcome to all those who want to join the party.
Anyone found using the party's name and symbol will be liable for legal action, he cautioned.
Tombi continued that the country and Manipur are seeing positive development under the BJP government at both the centre and in the state since 2014 and 2017 respectively.
The National Highways passing through the state have been repaired, while most recently, Manipur was made one of the venues for the G20/B20 Summit, which is highly laudable, he said.
