ALADA to fund education of anti-drug activist's kid

The All Lilong Anti-Drug Association (ALADA) has announced to sponsor one child of a person who was killed during a raid at a drug peddler's residence in Lilong Mairen Khun Tatthabi on January 16, 2020.This was announced on Sunday by ALADA member Abdul Nasir, who is also the founder of Islamic English School, Lilong Hangam Thabi during a visit to the residence of late Md Shajid Khan s/o Md Azad of Lilong Mairen Khun Tatthabi, who was killed by bullets fired from the residence of a drug peddler during a raid at the same locality.
Abdul Nasir was also the convenor of the JAC formed against the death of Md Shajid Khan.
The team comprising ALADA members, Lilong police station OC N Tiken and 16 AR post commander Major Kataria, during the visit, handed over edibles and monetary aid to the wife of the deceased Md Shajid Khan.
They also presented gifts to the two children of Shajid Khan.
Speaking on the occasion, Abdul Nasir recounted that the then JAC and the government along with the family members of the deceased had agreed on certain points in connection with the death of Shajid Khan including providing government job to the next of kin of the deceased but nothing has materialised till date.
Shajid died as part of the "War on Drugs" campaign in the state, he reminded all concerned.
Abdul further informed that one of the two children of Shajid Khan will be provided free educational facilities at Islamic English School
up to class X .
