AR assists sports meet, promotes cleanliness

Imphal, October 26 2021:
Churachandpur Battalion of IGAR (S) organised a friendly volleyball match with Mateijang Youth Club under the theme "Fighting Drugs Through Sports" at Neithujang village in Churachandpur district on Tuesday.
According to PRO IGAR (S), sports activities promote as an instrument to fight drug abuse amongst the youths and these events strengthened the mutual understanding between the security forces and the youths.
On the other hand, the Battalion on Monday extended assistance to Hita Hengjol Youth Sporting & Social Awareness Association with sports equipment and first aid kits for the Chavang Golseh sports meet, said the PRO.
In another development, Tengnoupa! Battalion of IGAR (S) organised cleanliness drive to promote Swachh Bharat Abhiyan at Khudengthabi village in Tengnoupal district on Monday.
The cleanliness drive was focused on cleaning the surroundings as well as an endeavour to motivate and encourage the locals to contribute towards making of an eco-friendly environment.
Meanwhile, Loktak Battalion of IGAR (S) organised a drug awareness campaign at Kangvai village in Churachandpur district on Tuesday to apprise the villagers especially youth of the areas about the harmful effects of drugs in health and life.
The campaign witnessed enthusiastic participation of 34 youths and adults including ladies from the village.
