Kangpokpi, October 20 2021:
Despite a disturbing rainfall that almost disrupted the ongoing KFA's open night tournament again, TAYWA Tusam Area Saikul had a narrow 1-0 win over BPES Eimi Imphal in the 17th match of the tournament on Tuesday night.
BPES Eimi Imphal team was trying hard to equalize the 20th-minute goal by Jam-khanlen for TAYWA Tusam Area but luck didn't favour the former, who squandered many chances.
In the second match of the night, Konghom Area Youth Development Union (KAYDU) had a tough game against Somphung Youth Club and the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
Somphung Youth Club led the game 1-0 after their striker Lamminlen found the opener in the 42nd minute but KAYDU tried hard and equalised through Lengoumang's strike.
In the last match of the night, N Songlung Youth Club (NSYC) defeated FC Saron 2-0 .
Sasang (41st) and Kamkhosat (50th) scored for NSYC.
The KFA authorities were in a dilemma as rain failed to stop till late evening since the nonstop moderate rainfall had already turned the ground into a mess and if the rain got worse there was possibility of halting the matches.
However, the scheduled matches for the night went ahead with Thangkhochon Haokip, MPS, addl SP (LO) Kangpokpi, kicking off the competition.
KFA official t-shirt was also launched by the MPS officer.
