First 'Asufii Talk' conducted

The first 'Asufii Talk' was conducted by the Research Cell, Asufii Christian Institute (ACI) on Wednesday under the banner, "Asufii Talk: A Discussion with the Author" .
Asufii Talk is a programme of the ACI Research Cell introduced recently to give opportunity to the students of ACI, and anybody interested to directly interact and exchange dialogues with authors.
Principal of St Xavier's College, Senapati, Rev Dr Fr William Nepuni, who is also the general secretary of Mao Academy, spoke on his book, "A Socio-cultural History of Shiipfomei Naga Tribe" .
The book provides a deep insider's view on the origin, migration and departure of the different Naga tribes and particularly the four kindred groups - Ememei, Lepaona, Paomata and Chiiluve.
Moreover, the book presents oral traditions, socio-cultural, socio-religious, socio-politics and socio-economic life of Shiipfomei Naga tribe and its untold history expressed through dance, music, folktales, folksongs, etc.
The speaker gave an overview of each chapter of the book, after which he was flooded with questions.
Intensive discussions took place enlightening the participants with informed knowledge.
The talk was attended by ACI vice principal Athishu, HOD of English department Dr Sahiinii and students of the institute.
