The North Imphal Sporting Association (NISA), Thangmeiband once again won the champion's trophy of the 4th edition of the Manipur State League organised by the All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) under the Vision India Project of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).
With this season's title, NISA had so far won the champion's trophy of the Manipur State League for the third consecutive times.
President, Manipur Olympic Association (MOA), MLA, Bijoy Koijam graced the closing ceremony as chief guest.
He handed over a cash award of Rs 2 lakhs to winning team NISA.
President, AMFA, A Santoshkumar presented a cash award of Rs 1 lakh to runners up team Tiddim Road Athletic Union (TRAU), Kwakeithel.
North Eastern Reorganising and Cultural Association (NEROCA), Sangakpham bagged the fair play team's award which carries a cash award of
Rs 50,000 .
Apart from this, AMFA also presented a cash amount of Rs 25,000 each to all the teams of the state league as assistance to organise the teams for the state league.
Eastern Sporting Union (ESU), Wangkhei and Anouba Imagi Mangal (AIM), Khabam Lamkhai played the last match of the state league today.
The match was concluded up in a tie with scores 3-3 .
Both teams displayed a real tough fight against one another throughout the match.
The first half of the match concluded 2-0 in favour of ESU.
ESU dominated the first half while AIM developed their tactics in the second half and scored back to make the match ended up in a tie.
The first goal of the match was scored in the 39th minute of the match by M Raju of ESU.
Kh Saveson scored the second goal of ESU in the 40th minute.
The third goal of ESU was scored by KR Ningthing in the 62nd minute of the match.
With three goals ahead of them, AIM tried their best and successfully equalised the score.
Ng Santosh, Th Roshan and Md Sabir Ali scored the three goals of AIM in the 76th, 81st and 86th minutes of the match.
