MCI officials coming next week

Imphal, March 20 2010:
The officials of Medical Council of India (MCI) will be coming to Imphal next week to inspect the progress in the development of infrastructure and preparations of Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS).
Meanwhile, the state Chief Minister, Okram Ibobi along with some of his Cabinet colleagues went to Porompat to inspect the ongoing construction of the JNIMS.
Apealing to all sections of people to cooperate with the authority in trying to put JNIMS on a par with any other reputed medical institutes of other states, the Chief Minister said, the government is planning to start the first session from July next.

Before the team of officials of MCI arrives in Imphal, the government is making efforts in full swing to keep everything required in place, the Chief Minister told media persons.
He further said that the state government had attempted to start the session from last year itself, but as some materials which were required could not be kept in place, the MCI had advised the state government to start the academic session from next (this) year.
The Chief Minister expressed his strong confidence that the MCI would surely recommend commencement of academic session of JNIMS this time.
Chief Minister Ibobi said that all men are mortal beings.
However, when humans fall ill or get injured, the patients have to be treated and statisfied.
For this, the doctors and staffs concerned should try their best to treat and serve the patients fully.
Health Minister Ph Parijat thanked the Chief Minister for his inspection visit to the JNIMS.
He said, Rs 26 crore had already been spent on development of the infrasture of JNIMS so far.
Works Minister K Ranjit, IFCD Minister N Biren, Chairman of PDA Dr Kh Loken, Director of JNIMS, Dr AD Singh, other doctors, officials, engineers, etc.
accompanied the Chief Minister during the inspection visit.
The Chief Minister and his team went and saw the new operation theatre, delivery room, reception counter, Departments of Anatomy and Forensic Medicine, lecture hall, central library, etc.
