Imphal, March 20 2010:
All the cadres of KCP-MC (Lallumba group) are likely to surrender formally to the Government next month.
According to a top level officer of the Police Department, the formal surrender function was delayed as the State Government could not finalise the area where the UG cadres would be housed after surrender.
However, the State Government has decided to accommodate all the cadres of KCP-MC (Lallumba group) in the Leikun, Chandel camp of 8th Bn Manipur Rifles after they surrender to the Government.
The Government has already started preparation to accommodate the UG cadres in the MR camp.
Around 200 cadres of the UG outfit are likely to surrender to the Government next month.
Notably, KCP-MC (Lallumba group) has already entered into a process of peace talk with the Government.
Meanwhile, a meeting of the Joint Monitoring Group with leaders of UPF and KNO has been scheduled for March 25 .
The KNO and the UPF are conglomerates of Kuki UG groups who have signed tripartite Suspension of Operation (SoO) pact with the State Government and New Delhi.
The meeting will be presided by Chief Secretary DS Poonia and would be attended by Joint Secretary of the Union Home Ministry Naveen Verma.
Violation of ground rules and construction of designated camps would be the main agenda of the meeting.
The Chief Secretary would preside another meeting of the Strategic Operation Group on the same day during which law and order situation of the State would be reviewed.
Union Home Secretary GK Pillai, during his visit to the KNF's designated camp near Sapermaina on February 25, suggested deposition of arms at one place instead of cadres carrying weapons around.
