ESU, YUCC victorious in 1st MNCA Super Plate tournament

ESU, Wangkhei sealed a 3 wicket win against KASC, Khomidok as YUCC, Kwakeithel Moirangpurel beat TCMDC by 25 runs in today's Group B matches of the ongoing 1st MNCA Super Plate Tournament.
TCMDC won the toss at Model Hr Secondary and Oriental College ground but opted to field first.
Put to bat, YUCC bundled out for a lowly total of 138 runs within 37.4 overs despite Ningthoujam Sanjit's significant knock of 91 runs but defended their total courtesy bowling attack led by led by Ningthoujam Amarjit and held TCMDC to 113 in 35.1 overs.

In YUCC innings, TCMDC's Suraj Kharibam (4/21 in 7 overs) and Thongam Nganthoi (4/21 in 5.4 overs) wreaked havoc to dismantle the batting line up.
TCMDC however had to face stiff resistance from YUCC bowlers and lost wickets in regular intervals before their collapse at 113 in 35.1 overs.
Kongbrailatpam Kalyan Sharma with 21 runs emerged highest TCMDC run getter followed by Suraj 15, Thongam Nganthoi 12 and Pukhrambam Paikhombajeet 11 .
The innings saw YUCC's Ningthoujam Amarjit clinching four wickets while Kadamjit Moirangthem and Khundrakpam Punshiba picked up two wickets each.
Ningthoujam Rahulkumar and Devraj Nongthomba also earned a wicket apiece to put break in the TCMDC chase.
Ningthoujam Sanjit of YUCC who fetched 91 runs off 120 balls was adjudged man of the match.
Elsewhere at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium, ESU beat KASC by 3 wickets.
Opting to bat first, KASC posted a target of 140 runs losing all the wickets in 38.3 overs thanks to significant contributions from Md Najir Khan (25), Azan Khan (31) and Md Babu (40) .
ESU's Surjit was the pick of ESU bowlers as he finished with the best bowling figures of 3/18 in 8 overs which contained 3 maiden overs as Chitaranjan Sharma (2/34) and Chongtham Mehul Shreth (2/32) bagged two wickets apiece.
Panthoi Bond and Hemchand Yumkham also picked up a wicket each to help ESU bowl out KASC on a paltry total.
Chongtham Mehul Shreth (24), Hanjabam Joykishan (26) and M Bhimananda (39) then ensured ESU sealed a three wicket win within 28 overs.
KASC's Washum Akram and Md Babu snatched two wickets each in this innings as Md Javed Aktar and Md Arif shared a wicket each.
Chongtham Mehul Shreth who produced an all round performance (24 runs and 2 wickets) was named man of the match.
