Saikul MLA's hubby, 2 others held in firing case

Imphal, March 14 2022:
Police arrested chairman of the armed Kuki Revolutionary Army (KRA) David Hangshing, who is also husband of newly elected Saikul MLA Kimneo Hangshing, along with two others on Sunday in case of celebratory firing.
The trio was arrested on the charge of firing in the air in negligent manner at Lhungtin village near T Gamnom designated camp during a victory procession to celebrate victory of Kimneo in the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election on March 10 night.
Kimneo contested the election as a nominee of Kuki People's Alliance (KPA), a newly floated political party.
According to Kangpokpi SP Amrita Sinha, an FIR was lodged at Saikul police station in connection with the blank firing.
In follow up action, Saikul police station, in coordination with 22 Assam Rifles, arrested the two KRA cadres.
One arrested cadre has been identified as Seikhochon Hangshing (39), of Lilen village of Peren district in Nagaland.
Later, in continuation to the raids carried out over the celebratory firing incident, another person, identified as Lamkhosat Hangshing (43) of Ichaigojanb village in Kangpokpi district, was arrested by the police.
Lamkhosat was seen shooting from a pistol during the blank firing incident, said SP Sinha.
