Active cases rise, 16 newly infected

Imphal, March 14 2022:
The number of active cases of Covid-19 in the state rose to 110 on Tuesday as government bulletins reported 16 fresh cases and only three recoveries.
The new cases were detected out of 944 samples tested in the last 24 hours, thus, registering 1.69 per cent positivity rate against 1.35 per cent recorded on Sunday.
No death case was reported on Monday and the toll stands at 2118.Till date, the virus has claimed lives of 193 vaccinated persons of which 61 had received second dose.
In the last 24 hours, 3 patients were discharged from home isolation.
The active case rose to 110 out of which 36 (32.73 per cent) are in home isolation.
There are 291 vacant beds available in JNIMS and 114 in RIMS but there is no updated information on bed availability in Covid Care Centres.
So far, the state has recorded 11,219 positive cases and 116 fatalities since the beginning of the third wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 224 new positive cases and 6 fatalities.
The weekly number of new cases and new fatalities are 104 and 3 respectively.
According to official reports, all the 16 fresh cases 7 male & 9 female) are from among the general population and their samples were confirmed at various testing centres (16).The positive cases are from Imphal East (3), Imphal West 16), Thoubal (2), Bishnupur 2), Kakching (1), Kangpokpi (1) and Tamenglong (1).The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,37,007 (general population - 1,31,993 and CAPF personnel - 5,014).Number of recovered cases is 1,34,779 (general population - 1,29,776 and CAPF personnel - 5,003) and number of active cases is 110 (general population -106 and CAPF personnel - 4).The recovery rate is 98.37 per cent.
A total of 285 D-type arfd 99 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours while 592 vaccine doses were administered on Monday taking the cumulative number of vaccinated people to 15,22,759, including 11,65,676 who have received the second dose and 63,157 recipients of precautionary doses.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (48,682), Imphal East (30,409), Thoubal (10,138), Churachandpur (11,044), Kangpokpi (3127), Tamenglong (3472), Bishnupur (9821), Senapati (2486), Ukhrul (3265), Kakching (6882), Chandel (2714), Noney (1158), Tengnoupal (1198), Jiribam (1110), Kamjong (1036) and Pherzawl (465).Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (703), Imphal East (511), Thoubal (188), Churachandpur (168), Kangpokpi (67), Tamenglong (17), Bishnupur (205), Senapati (12), Ukhrul (51), Kakching (122), Chandel (42), Noney (5), Tengnoupal (15), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0).Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 44,153 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 30,644 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 5,12,248 tests per million population against the national average of 5,55,285 TPM.
Case fatality rate rose to 1.55 per cent while cumulative positivity rate declined to 8.62 per cent.
