Skill development programme begins

Thoubal, March 14 2022:
A 3-days long Skill Development Programme on "Modern method for sustainable Aquaculture" began today at District Fishery Office, Thoubal District.
The programme was organised by District Fishery Officer, Thoubal in association with Institute of Fisheries Education, ICAR-Kolkata.
It was attended by Institute of Fisheries Education Kolkata principal, Dr Sukham Munilkumar and scientists Hanjabam Mandakini Devi as resource persons.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, District Fishery Officer, Kh Ibetombi Devi stated that fish is a good source of protein which can be acquired cheaply by the people.

She also mentioned that the Government of India has initiated various schemes to increase the productivity of fish farmers and generate more income.
Kh Ibetombi further urged the farmers to take part in such skill development training to gain more knowledge and avail the benefits of schemes provided by the Government.
About 50 selected farmers from Kakching and Thoubal districts took part in the programme.
