Jiribam, March 14 2022:
BJP Minority Morcha, Jiribam general secretary Md Mizaz Uddin has appealed to all the communities settling in Jiribam district to maintain peace and promote love and understanding.
Addressing media persons at its Ningshingkhul office on Monday, Mizaz said that family members of BJP Imphal West Minority Morcha vice president Sadam were attacked by JDU supporters in a post-poll violence in Jiribam.
Immediately after getting the report BJP state general secretary P Premanda and Imphal West president Phony Meetei visited Jiribam and spread the message of peace by holding a public meeting, he said and thanked BJP leaders from Imphal for the prompt response.
The clarification made by JDU Jiribam secretary Th Meghajit about party's non-involvement in the attack on Sadam's family was not true as there are enough evidences including photo and video recording of the attack carried out by JDU workers who came in a vehicle with JDU flag, Mizaz Uddin claimed.
Questioning as to why the attackers are yet to be arrested despite filing a report to the police, Mizaz Uddin said that people of Jiribam are demanding reason for inaction against the attackers.
The press conference was also attended by BJP Imphal West Minority Morcha vice president Sadam, Jiribam Minority Morcha president Moina Mia and other party leaders of the district.
