16th Manipur Veteran Cricket : CYCLONE clinch thrilling 3-run win against NAPSA to reach final

CYCLONE, Thangmeiband will lock horns with YWC, Langthabal in the final of the 16th Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament 2018-19 being organised by Manipur Veteran Cricket Association.
CYCLONE posted a nervy 3 run victory yesterday against NAPSA, Kha lmphal in the second semifinal to set up the final date with the Langthabal side tomorrow at 10 am at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium, Luwangsangbam.
CYCLONE which elected to bat first after winning the toss piled up 156 runs for 6 in 30 overs.
In response, NAPSA fell short by 4 runs to seal the win giving the Thangmeiband side the final berth.
Shashikumkar led the scoring for CYCLONE making 49 runs off 47 balls while Binoy ably assisted with 47 runs in 53 ballls in the first innings.
Rohendro and Thoithoi were also able to gather 18 runs and 11 runs respectively in this innings and helped CYCLONE post a total of 156 runs.
Simon was pick of the NAPSA bowler in the first innings as he enjoyed a 3 wicket haul while Himat claimed 2 wickets and Mahesh fetched 1 wicket respectively.
Ratan gave NAPSA a fresh start in the chase but went out with 29 runs in his name in the 22nd delivery he faced.
Keshorji and Brojen had the similar 26 runs in this innings while Bhogen managed 20 runs off 18 balls before their innings ended at 153 runs for 7 in 30 overs.
Tiken of CYCLONE scalped 2 wickets in this innings and played a crucial role in hindering NAPSA build up while Binoy, Bikom and Robindro took one wicket each.
Binoy of CYCLONE was adjudged man of the match for his 47 runs knock and 1 wicket feat.
