Jayantakumar assures to fulfil insufficiencies of District Hospital, Jiribam

The 48 hours OPD shut down of 50-bedded hospital in Jiribam district which began yesterday morning was called off today following the assurance given by Health Minister L Jayantakumar, conveyed AJUCA president Maipaksana.
The Minister was visiting the hospital today as part of an inspection tour.
While interacting with the CSOs and locals, the Minister assured to provide all basic necessities of the hospital at the earliest.
Assuring that a free diagnostic centre will be opened in the district which can conduct 53 different tests for free by January 2019, Jayantakumar urged all to take benefit of the facility.
Meanwhile, AJUCA submitted a memorandum to the Minister demanding to upgrade the existing 50-bedded hospital into a well equipped district hospital with facilities and specialist doctors, nurses and other staff.
It also demanded other facilities including OT, laboratory, mortuary with refrigerator.
It demanded to set up an urban hospital or a trauma centre at the heart of the town and CHC at Borobekra Subdivision and demanded transfer of the present Chief Medical Officer for poor knowledge of administration.
As part of the tour, the Minister has been visiting the Court complex, Jail, 50-bedded hospital as well as the tea estate in Jiribam district since yesterday.
He also inspected the area for construction of Ayush hospital in the district, reports our correspondent.
The Minister was accompanied by Ningthombi Athokpam, Law Secretary, Manipur, A Guneshwor Sharma, Registrar High Court of Manipur, K Sarat, General Secretary (Adm) BJP Manipur Pradesh, Jiribam MLA, Jiribam DC and Jiribam district police SP.
During the tour, the Minister also interacted with members of All Jiribam Women Association and the locals in which the Women Association members expressed dissatisfaction about the deplorable condition of Jiribam hospital and demanded the establishment of Session Judge Court and a well equipped Jiribam hospital.
He expressed that Jiribam district is located far from Imphal and there is necessity for Session Judge Court to maintain law and order in the district.
He also mooted for establishing an Ayush hospital in Jiribam district.
