CHAMP seal 7th MVCA T20 Cricket title with 5 run win against YWC

CHAMP, Khagempalli which end YWC, Langthabal's unbeaten run by securing a 5 run win on March 17 did the same, this time in the final to rightfully claim the title of the 7th MVCA T20 Cricket organised by Manipur Veteran Cricket Association at Langthabal Public Ground today.
Electing to bat first, CHAMP stacked up a modest 121 runs total for 7 and successfully held YWC, Langthabal at 117 all out in 19.3 overs.
Bablu top-scored for CHAMP with 32 runs off 18 runs in his name while Ibobi was able to strike 26 off 32 balls.
Robinson also made his name on the scoresheet for his 19 runs feat in the first innings which saw Priyokumar and Kumarjit of YWC claim two wickets each.
Samanda of YWC also picked up 1 in his spell of 4 overs.
Manaobi of YWC took of the chase on a brilliant note but was dismissed when he was 7 runs away from the half century mark.
Kumarjit (16) and Samanda (13) tried hard to anchor the innings but went out with cheap scores before the remaining order proved easy preys to varied bowling attack from the Khagempalli side.
Homeshore of CHAMP was in brilliant form as he dismissed 4 in 4 overs to hinder the chase significantly while Bablu and Jodiba was able to picked up 2 and 1 wicket respectively.
Bablu of CHAMP was then named man of the match for his 32 runs contribution and 2 wicket haul.
The valedictory function of the tournament was attended by Ch Chaoba Singh, vice president Manipur Cricket Association, N Indrajeet Singh, president, Manipur Veteran Cricket Association; T Rojikumar Singh (Donor for winners) and Th Joykumar (Donor for runners up) as dignitaries who also feted the champions, runners up and other team and individual prize winners.
Winners, CHAMP walked away Rs 15,000 richer along with a trophy (rolling) while runners up, YWC got Rs 10,000 and a trophy.
Semi-finallists, LCCC, Chajing and NAPSA, Kha-Imphal were also feted with Rs 1,000 each besides man of the match, Bablu of CHAMP (Rs 1,000); man of the series, Jodiba of CHAMP (Rs 2,000); highest wicket taker, Kumarjit of YWC (Rs 1,000); highest run scorer, Jodiba of CHAMP (Rs 1,000); 11 players who score more than 50 runs (Rs 500 each) .
