Seminar on pragmatic solution for elderly persons conducted

A one day seminar on pragmatic solution for elderly persons organized by Social and Cultural Advancement Foundation (SCAF), Khurai Thoudam Leikai, Ayang Palli Road, Imphal East under the sponsorship of National Commission For Women (NCW), New Delhi was conducted at Kamranga Community Hall, Jiribam at around 2 pm today.
The one day seminar was attended by Dr Binota Meinam, chairperson, Manipur State Commission For Women (MSCW); L Samarendra Singh, pradhan, Hilghat GP, Jiribam; Nabakumar Sinamcha, AI of School, ZEO Jiribam; Mutum Shyam Kumar, president, Leishem Club, Khuningthek, Jiribam as presidium members while Lourembam Dayabati Devi, reporter, MSCW; Soibam Nilima, member, MSCW and Laisangbam Veerjeet Singh, social worker, Jiribam attended the programme as resource persons.
The seminar began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the chief guest Dr Binota Meinam.
Delivering the keynote address, M Mukhra Devi, president, SCAF said that the seminar was held to spread awareness regarding the practical approach to look after the elder persons by their wards in a proper manner.
Resource person Lourembam Dayabati Devi said that the seminar was held with the objective to elevate the happiness quotient of the elderly persons.
She further said the elderly parents enjoyed extreme happiness when they are treated with respect and love by their children.
