Ranji Trophy: Mizoram trail Manipur by 94 runs

Mizoram trailed Manipur by 94 runs at stumps on the second of their Ranji Trophy plate group tie at Narendra Modi stadium 'A' Motera, Ahmedabad on Wednesday.
Manipur, who bowled out Mizoram for 104 in 35.4 overs in the latter's first innings, responded with 277 (all out) before tea break.
Jotin Pheiroujam was unbeaten on 51 off 129 balls in the first innings.
Priyojit K (49), Ronald M (39), P Prafullomani (34), Rex (25) and Bikash Singh (25) were other key contributors to the state squad's total.
For Mizoram, Taruwar Kohli was the pick of the bowlers having taken four wickets as Dika Ralte and Naveen claimed two scalps each, wit h Avinash Yadav and Bobby accounting for one each.
Mizoram then ended the first day of their second innings collecting; 97/3 at stumps, trailing by 94 runs, as Hruaia got dismissed for 42 while Shreevats Goswami scored 30 (not out) .
Earlier, Jotin Pheiroujam shone with the ball for Manipur as his 11-over spell yielded four wickets while Bishworjit impressed with three scalps.
Rex, Priyojit K and L.Kishan Singha bagged one wicket apiece for Manipur.
A monumental bowling effort by the state team resulted in Mizoram's batting collapse like a pack of cards in their first innings, managing just 104 after being skittled out in 35.4 overs.
