Online lecture programme concludes

The 14 weeks long Online Lecture Programme on Sports Sciences organised by Department of Sports Science & Fitness Centre under the aegis of Sports Authority of India, North East Regional Centre (SAI, NERC), Imphal concluded today.
A press release by SAI, NERC said that a simple valedictory function was held today at the SAI Conference Hall attended by Regional Director, Francis Marwein, Deputy Director, Lianminthang and Department of Sports Science Incharge, Kh Lokendro Singh and lecturers and appreciation certificates were also presented to the lecturers.
The aim of the programme was to impart education on the various areas of sports sciences to the coaches, athletes and sports scientific staff of various departments.
The program was attended by about 200 SAI athletes and 70 Coaches from Mizoram, Nagaland and Manipur.
The programme also served as a refresher course for the coaches/scientific staff who have already learnt the sports sciences areas in their educational courses such as MSc, MPED, BPED or sports coaching.
It was a holistic approach to make or combine the parts into a whole portion and apply it to the sports training so as to enable the persons concerned persons to implement the set plan towards a scientific and effective way of training, continued the statement.
During the programme a total number of 70 sessions were conducted 5 days a week by scientific staff of SAI and three guest speakers invited from RIMS.
The sessions covered Mental Hygiene, Sports Injuries, Doping in Sports, Strength & Conditioning, Kinanthropometry, Exercise Physiology, Nutrition, Physiotherapy, Massage and Mess and Kitchen Hygiene, added the statement.
