Man held with gold worth Rs 22 lakh

Imphal, August 19 2021:
CISF personnel deployed at Bir Tikendrajit International airport arrested a passenger along with gold worth Rs 22 lakh on Wednesday around 2 pm.
The arrested person has been identified as Ragamath Ali, son of Ameer of Tamil Nadu.
Three gold biscuits were recovered from his possession.
According to police, Ragamath was to board the Imphal-Kolkata Indigo flight 6E-6087 when CISF personnel found the gold biscuits concealed in his rectum upon checking.
The arrested person along with the seized gold biscuits has been handed over to Customs Division, Imphal.
