Jiribam, August 19 2021:
Preferences in the recruitment of Graduate teachers for Jiribam district should be given to the local teachers, said DESAM District Council president, L Bilask in a joint press conference held at AMSU DC Jiribam Office.
Speaking on the occasion, L Bilask informed that considering the insufficient number of graduate teachers in Jiribam districts, preferences for the teachers recruitment conducted by Manipur Education (S) Department should be given to the 31 local teachers who took part in the written examination held on August 14.In regard to the demands of the student bodies, L Bilask clarified that with just a monthly remuneration of Rs 13,600, non-local teachers would find it difficult to stay in Jiribam district for long.
Cases of teachers not staying in the district for long and frequent transfers have been seen for many years.
Therefore, it is better to give the opportunity to the local teachers for the betterment of the student community, he added.
L Bilask on behalf of the 4 student body, viz AMSU D/C Jiribam, MSF D/C Jiribam, DESAM District Council, Jiribam and KSA, District Council Jiribam further appealed to the State Government to consider the plight of the Jiribam student community and give preference to the local teachers.
The joint conference was attended by AMSU D/C Jiribam vice president, Poresh Urikhinbam; MSF D/C Jiribam finance secretary, S Sanjoy Singh; and KSA District Council Jiribam secretary in charge, Ch Achou Singh.
