Jiribam Cdos seize brown sugar, nab two

Imphal, August 19 2021:
A team of CDO Jiribam led by SI E Dorendro Singh seized brown sugar weighing about 337 gram near Kimthang Road in Tamenglong district along NH-37 on Wednesday.
As per police report, a total of 337 grams of brown sugar was seized from the smugglers identified as Nemtinkim Singson (36), wife of Seiginthang Singson of Longchin Village, New Keithelmanbi (Kangpokpi district) and Kapma Singson (55), son of Letna Singson of Kaimai Part-II (Kangpokpi district).
The report stated that duo was carrying the contraband drugs in a diesel Auto-Rickshaw which was travelling from Imphal side towards Jiribam.
As the vehicle was halted for checking, a total of 24 soap caps containing suspected brown sugar were found inside a double-layered blanket from the back side of the auto.
On weighing, the suspected brown sugar was found to be 337 gm, said the report.
On further questioning, it came to light that Nemtinkim bought the contraband items from Moreh and was to deliver the same at Jiribam to an individual from in Phaitol, in Tamenglong district.
A case was initially registered at Jiribam PS.
However, as the seizure and arrest were made in an area which falls un der the jurisdiction of Tousem Police Station in Tamenglong District, the case has been transferred to Tousem PS on Thursday for further investigation, added the report.
