State still top in medals' race

With the addition of two gold medals on the fourth day of competition in the 34th National Games today Manipur remained on top of the medals race.
Compared to medal rush on the first four days of the Games, manipur had to be satisfied with gold medal haul in sepaktakraw men's team event after a 2-0 regu victory over Delhi and the similar score margin win over Assam in the women's title match.
In women's 500 metres single scull event L Luxmi advanced to the semifinal while Ch Priya and Th Chaoba rowed to the last four round in the women's 500 metres double sculls event.
In 500 metre coxless pair event of rowing competition, S Zingranphy and Kh Debala have reached the last four stage.
Significantly, five States and Services Sports Control Board have been benefited in the ongoing Games as players from Manipur representing these States/institution have provided them a total of 15 gold medals.
The most of benefit is Delhi with five gold medals followed by Madhya Pradesh with four, Services and Haryana two each, and one apiece by Karnataka and Jharkhand.
