Imphal, February 16 2011:
The pace of repairing the National Highway 39 in Manipur is very slow and not satisfactory, an official of the Union Ministry of Surface Transport and Highways
has observed.
Talking to The Sangai Express, the official pointed out that there is enough fund not just for development of the highway in the Ministry.
National
Highway 39 is an important road of Manipur.
Yet the pace of the repairing work being taken along this road is so slow that the fund provided has not been able to utilise in time, thereby leading to delay in sanctioning of the fund for the next instalment.
The official has also expressed desire for development of National Highway 53 as an all season road rather than considering it as an alterative route.
