AR seizes contraband items

Imphal, August 22 2021:
Moreh Battalion of IGAR (South) recovered 25 bags of Chinese textiles and footwear worth Rs 15 lakh near Maojang village on Saturday.
According to PRO IGAR (S), troops of Assam Rifles observed two vehicles moving towards Maojang village during routine patrolling.
Seeing the troops, the drivers abandoned the vehicles and fled across the Indo-Myanmar border.
On checking the vehicles, 25 bags of Chinese origin textiles and footwear were recovered and the items have been handed over to Customs Prevention Force Moreh for further investigation, it added.
