KWUM submits memo to Sonia Gandhi

Imphal, February 24 2011:
Government is not taking up necessary measures to implement policies under the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009, said Kuki Women Union, Manipur (KWUM) in a memorandum forwarded to the UPA chairperson, Sonia Gandhi requesting her to direct the state government to address their plight.
In the memorandum states that primary schools in the villages are poorly staffed, no minimum facility is given and there are no infrastructure where students can study and play.
