UG cadres apprehended

One KCP-MC cadre who reportedly came for extortion has been shot and arrested by Imphal East police commandos today.
According to a police source, Imphal East commandos were keeping a strict vigil as they received a specific information that some KCP-MC cadres would be coming to Khundrakpam Awang Leikai for extortion.
At about 2.30 pm, two people who came on a motorcycle (Bajaj Platina) turned around and fled away on seeing police commandos.
When the commandos shouted to halt, they opened fire towards the security personnel who retaliated immediately.
Even as one of them was hit and fell down, the other managed to flee away.
The injured and arrested KCP-MC cadre has been identified as Nongthombam Premananda (27) of Sambei Nongthombam Leikai.
A bullet which hit him on the left side of abdomen exited through.
He has been admitted in JNIMS.
On the other hand, one RPF/PLA cadre identified as Ningthoujam Romio Singh alias Naoba alias Jungle Boy (19) s/o N Sudam Singh of Heirok Part II Bazar by a combined team of Thoubal police commandos and troops of 28 AR during a frisking and checking exercise at Tangjeng area at about 4 pm of February 22 .
Further, another combined team of Thoubal commandos and 42 AR apprehended one cadre of KCP (MC) namely, Thongam Sohadeva alias Sodin Singh (32) s/o Th Ibomcha of Umathel Awang Leikai but staying at Papan village in Chandel district from Heikakpokpi area at about 6.30 pm yesterday, conveyed a press release issued by the office of SSP Thoubal.
On the other hand, one UNLF/MPA cadre was nabbed by a combined team of Bishnupur commandos and troops of 4/8 GR during a frisking and checking exercise at Bishnupur Bazar at about 7.30 pm yesterday.
The arrested cadre has been identified as Lance Corporal Amom Kunjeshore alias Nganba (25) s/o Wangoo Sandangkhong Makha Leikai.
42 Assam Rifles troops nabbed one KCP (MC) cadre from Pallel yesterday.
The cadre has been identified as Army No 695 s/s Pvt Thingnam alias Soden (32), s/o Th Ibomcha of Umathel Awang Leikai.
One Pistol with magazine and two live rounds were recovered from the apprehendee who alongwith recoveries was handed over to Kakching Police station, said a press release issued by PRO Hqs IGAR (S) .
