Yellow mustard successfully cultivated

Cultivation of Yellow Mustard, locally known as Hungam Angouba, has been taken up successfully in Heikrujam area of Bishnupur district.
Dean of Central Agricultural University (CAU) Prof N Iboton today conducted a field visit to inspect the site where Yellow Mustard have been successfully cultivated over one Pari of land since last year.
Interacting with mediapersons on the sidelines of the field visit, Prof Iboton explained that consumption of Yellow Mustard is like consumption of refined oil and it can control diabetes, cancer and heart problems.
The seed of Yellow Mustard is also more profitable than other normal Mustard varieties like M-27, he informed, adding that Yellow Mustard has four chambers or pockets of seeds while M-27 has only two.
Another significant feature of Yellow Mustard is that the seeds are drought and insect resistant, Prof Iboton further disclosed, adding that CAU is planning to spread the cultivation of Yellow Mustard over 100 Paris of land next year.

The inspection team also visited Atom Chaonu Loukon where Yellow Mustard cultivation is being been taken up successfully.
