The CDSU today said it has extended the deadline it had set for fulfilling the demands following the dead of Lunminsiam in police firing as was requested by the district administration for 7 days but maintained that the extension should in no way be read as stepping backward on its demands.
A statement of the union said the district administration has assured to address their demand latest by July 20, however as per their sincere request the deadline has been extended till Jul 27 .
It further said that the extension was in no way a sign of withdrawal on their demands nor any indication that they are yielding to the whims and wishes of the authority concerned.
Ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakhs and a job for the next of kin of Lunminsuam Guite, financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh each for injured individuals and booking the police personnel responsible for the irresponsible acts are the demands of CDSU.
