AMADA takes anti-drug campaign to schools

All Manipur Anti-Drugs Association (AMADA) organised an academic awareness programme on prevention of drug abuse and illicit trafficking at Camps English Academy, Luwangshangbam today.
Speaking as chief guest at the function, AMADA vice-president Y Sundari Leima said, the impact of drug abuse is increasing day by day in Manipur.
Human civilization may totally get wiped out from Manipur if the current trend is not checked at the earliest, she observed cautioning that the State would be unable to take part in the race of global advancement if the youths remain indulged in intoxicants.
LML Law College Lecturer S Dilip spoke on illicit drug trafficking while NCB Regional Unit SP RK Ibungosana delivered lecture on drug abuse prone to young students and its remedies.
Bishnupur District Hospital Psychiatrist Dr H Angomcha also spoke in the programme on the topic, 'effect of psychotropic drugs in the body' .
Academy Secretary Dr L Ibobi and Principal Ch Nabaku-mar were also present at the function.
Bidyananda Haobijam, Louriyam Madona and Longjam Rishikanta were presented prizes in connection with a quiz competition organised as part of the programme.
