Thoubal, July 20 2013 :
Normal traffic movement along Imphal-Moreh section of NH-2 was severely affected on the first day of the total bandh clamped by Chandel Naga People's Organisation (CNPO) and Chandel Naga Chiefs Asso-ciation (CNCA) demanding immediate revocation of the explanation call served to about 160 teachers as well as the show cause notice given to seven ADC teachers by the Chairman of ADC Chandel.
As bandh supporters blocked Imphal-Moreh road at Thamnapokpi and Imphal-Chandel road at Kapaam area, border trade at Moreh was also affected.
Speaking to reporters, CNPO Secretary BD Betha expressed wonder on issuing explanation call to 160 teachers and show cause notice to seven teachers based on a alleged partial inspection tour conducted by DI of ADC Primary schools, TK Mosilpha.
The secretary alleged that Members and ADC Chairman attend office in Imphal instead of Chandel district headquarters, which is a sheer violation of norms and guidelines.
Questioning why explanation call and show cause notices were issued in Imphal, BD Betha pointed out that it must be displayed on the notice board of ADC Chandel.

The Secretary questioned why the DI inspected the schools at 7.30 in the morning and 4 in the afternoon, which are not school hours.
He also expressed wonder on the presence of many teachers, who are normally absent in most of the time, in their respective schools on the day of DI's inspection tour.
Questioning how they attended schools on the particular day, BD Betha alleged that it was the clear indication favouritism.
He also said that many teachers who remained absent most of the time were not included in the list of explanation call and show cause notice.
The Secretary further said that ongoing bandh would continue until the explanation call and show cause notice are revoked.
