Wheelchairs, tricycles and hearing aids have been distributed to 352 beneficiaries along with a simple function organised by Department of Tribal Affairs and Hills, Manipur at the Department's head office today.
As chief guest of the distribution programme, Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam stated that the items were presented to individuals with physical disabilities and hearing impaired to enable them live in a more convenient manner.
While conveying that nobody wants to be born or live with disability, he nevertheless exhorted people with disabilities not to be disheartened as determination and will-power are vital qualities to overcome all obstacles.
In his brief address, Parliamentary Secretary for Tribal Affairs and Hills Victor Keishing called upon every section of the society to contribute their mites in facilitating physically challenged people live a comfortable life as well assist them in achieving their goal.
The event was also attended by Principal Secretary Dev Barmahal, director (TA&H) Lunminthang Haokip, Deputy Director (TA&H) A Binodini Devi and Thanlon assembly constituency MLA Vungzagin Valte.
