Imphal, October 17 2014 :
Inner Manipur MP, Dr Thokchom Meinya has strongly condemned the recent attacks on NE people in the metros of Bangalore and NCR of Delhi.
Three NE students were allegedly beaten up in a Bangalore locality for not speaking Kannada and another two young men from Nagaland were thrashed brutally in Gurgaon by a gang of locals with cricket bats and hockey sticks.
The MP has described these incidents as acts of racial profiling and cowardice.
He has urged the Union Government and Union Home and Law Ministries in particular for immediate legislation of an anti-racial law to effectively deal with such acts.
