Tarao, Moyon community rebuke claims

There is no such committee as 'Chandel Endangered Language Committee' in Chandel, said president of Moyon Tribe N Dominic Shongshir Moyon during a press meet held at Chandel today.
N Dominic who is the present president of BAP (Bujuur Aanchung Puh) Moyon Tribe further said, if there is such a committee in Chandel it would be known to all who is working in the field to promote endangered language.
Dominic further clarified that no member from the Moyon Tribe (BAP) is in the committee too.
Former president of BAP, R Jindashing said, Moyon is a language which has been declared 'Definitely Endangered' by UNESCO and is currently working to preserve the language with various workshops under Central Institute of Indian Languages (CIIL).
Under the Five Year Plan of Government of India, process is underway to preserve and promote the language, he added.
Chairman of Culture and Literature Society, L Morre Tarao said Tarao has been declared extinct in the list of Endangered Language, 2007.But Tarao language is currently under CIIL to resurrect its status under the guidance of Th Chandramani since 2010 .
He further questioned, if there is such a committee as Chandel Endangered Language Committee why is the Tarao language left behind.
The press meet held today was attended by the public of both Tarao and Moyon tribe too.
