Ukhrul, April 17 2015 :
Amid all the steps taken up and steps planned to spread awareness on the conservation of wild life across the State by both State and private NGOs, organisations, social workers and Forest Department, a deer was lynched to death at Ukhrul by a group of policemen along with local people, Mungchan Zimik reports.
Eyewitnesses of the incident said the young deer came running from the nearby jungle at around 6.30 am having lost its way back when a group of security personnel along with local bystanders started chasing the animal.
Having cornered before an iron gate the men brutally lynched the animal to death.
