JAC to intensify stir ; Calls 72-hr total bandh from April 20

The Joint Action Committee (JAC) of All Manipur Hill Districts Contract Basis Teachers Association (AMHDCBTA) has called called a 72-hr total bandh from April 20 .
In a press note, JAC- AMHDCBTA Spokesman HM Saka said the JAC has also extended support to All Naga Students' Association, Manipur (ANSAM), Zeliangrong Students' Union, Manipur (ZSUM), Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (TKS), Naga Students' Union, Chandel (NSUC), Zomi Students' Federation (ZSF) GHQ, Kuki Students' Organization (KSO) IB, Tribal Youth Council Manipur (TYCM) who had earlier imposed closure of all national and central sponsored projects in Manipur since April 9 demanding for service Regularization of hill districts contract basis teachers 2006 batch, under the Directorate of Education (S) Hills.
The JAC said that several representations had appealed the State Government to address the issue which had caused enormous difficulties of the hills schools contract teachers besides request made on providing adequate teachers in schools in hill districts.
The Government of Manipur had however remained silent on the issue and this has compelled the JAC to call a bandh.
While alleging that the Government had ignored the voice of the various hills and valley based students' bodies and civil society organizations, JAC said it will intensify its mode of agitation by imposing 72-hour total bandh in all Inter-State Road Transport Services on National/Trans Asian Highways with effect from midnight of April 20 .
The JAC has appealed all to extend support until an amicable solution is reached between JAC and Government of Manipur.
