Imphal, May 24 2015 :
The 29th of May, 1944 saw the end of a battle between Japanese army and Allied force, a fierce battle fought during the second world war era which has come to be known as the battle of Red Hill or Lotpaching.
To commemorate the 71st anniversary of the battle, Australian High Commissioner to India, Patrick Suckling and Ambassador of Japan to India, Takeshi Yagi will pay homage at Maibam Lotpa Ching, Nambol on
May 29 .
The 71st commemoration event is being organised jointly by Manipur Tourism Forum and 2nd World War Imphal Campaign.
