Battle of Red Hill anniversary

Anniversary of the Battle of Red Hill also known as point 2926 is going to be observed on May 29 at Maibam Lokpa Ching.
This was stated by Th Dhabali president Manipur Tourism Forum at a press conference at Hotel Imphal on Sunday.
Dhabali further said that a three month long second world war commemoration was held last year during which delegates from Japan, US, Australia and Britain took part.
A similar commemoration is also planned in the year 2019.He said that this year the organising committee of 71st Anniversary Battle of Imphal World War II is organising some activities at Maibam Lokpa Ching.
Rajeshor Yumnam, co founder of World War II Imphal Campaign Foundation said that there will be functions starting May 21 till May 29 at Maibam Lokpa Ching.
He said that the place is significant as the 33rd Division Japanese Army and Allied Force fought here and May 29 is the date when Allied Force defeated Japan.
Japanese Ambassador and Australian high commissioner to India are also scheduled to participate in the Battle of Red Hill anniversary function.
Arambam Angamba of Second World War foundation also spoke at the press meet.
