AMSU threatens to block MOBC

All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU) on Sunday urged the Minority and Other Backward Classes (MOBC) department to immediately release the pending two years Post Matric Scholarship money of Other Backward Classes (OBC) Students before June 9 .
Speaking to the Media persons at the head office AMSU Secretary General Manjit Sarangthem demanded the release pf all the pending scholarship amounts of OBC students before June 9 and threatened to lock down the office if the responsible authority failures to fulfill their demands.
He alleged that OBC students did not get the scholarships for 2012-13 and 2013-14 despite the fact that the Ministry of Minority and Other Backward Classes (MOBC) had sanctioned the said amounts in the respective years.
Showing the data the media persons Manjit said the Ministry had sanctioned amount of Rs 2.55 core for 2012-13 and Rs 2.57 core for 2013-14 for OBC students.
He said 2265 OBC students were selected for the post matric scholarship in 2012-13 and 5755 OBC students were selected in 2013-14 .
He alleged that the funds may have been diverted.
Manjit further said over 300 OBC students who were selected for the post matric scholarship 2014-15 were found to have furnished incorrect information in their documents.
AMSU also demanded to check and correct such documents within fifteen days.
