All Tribal Students' Union Manipur (ATSUM) has clarified that the economic blockade being clamped along NH-39 and NH-53 is not related with the students' body.
A press release issued by its Assistant General Secretary Robert Leivon said that the concerned petitioner and the State Government must be responsible for any untoward incident if the PIL filed against the students' body is not withdrawn.
Robert Leivon also cautioned the media not to twist news.
He said, "If the fourth estate goes on twisting all news item and release all fake news item, then ATSUM will be compelled to take up the issue seriously and befittingly in a manner deemed it" .
The Assistant General Secretary made it clear that ATSUM must not be dragged into any issue which does not relate with the union.
He also condemned the killing of two students in the Mao incident of May 6.Robert Leivon said that security forces must be responsible for the unwanted killing and bringing turmoil in the State.
He also urged the State Government to bring normalcy in tribal areas at the earliest.
