Co-ordinating Committee of Coaches, Superintendents, Stadium Advisors and Physical Education Association for Youth Affairs and Sports has clarified there is no question of discrimination against any person on the basis of the religion one professed or the community belongs to.
Recalling the remarks purportedly made during the press conference held at conference hall of MOA at Khuman Lampak main stadium on Nov 2, the representatives of the Committee while speaking to media-persons at Manipur Press Club here today said the Committee has no objection to International Women Boxer Mary Kom joining the Dept for the development of women boxers and the remarks on appointment to the post of the Assistant Director (Coaching) had been made in the light of the existing formalities like promotion of coaches on seniority basis and other technical requirements.
As such the remarks had been made without any malice to any community or person following a particular religion, Committee chairman N Manglem said.
Manglem said the Committee would whole-heartedly welcome Mary Kom if she was to impart training to the women boxers of the Department and would also pray for her success and glory in the years to come.
