With the State Government relenting to retain the left out 354 part time lecturers, regular classes resumed in all the Government Colleges today.
Normal classes in the Government colleges were disrupted for nearly three months after the 466 part time lecturers launched indefinite cease work stir demanding regularisation of their service.
In addition to the cease work stir undertaken by the part timers, the State Government further aggravated the situation by terminating the agitating part time lecturers.
In subsequent development, the State Government retained 112 part time lecturers who fulfilled the parameters set by UGC.
Rolling back its earlier decision, the State Government yesterday resolved to retain the service of all the terminated part time lecturers.
