Imphal, June 26 2013:
The BJP Manipur Pradesh has demanded formulation of separate legislation for the State for implementation of Inner Line Permit System.
Addressing newsmen yesterday at its office located at Keishampat, spokesman of BJP Manipur Pradesh, Prof S Tikendra said enforcement of ILPS in Manipur is possible without the consent of the Centre under Article 19 (5) of the Constitution.
He said among the four North Eastern States where ILPS is implemented, Mizoram and Meghalaya enforced ILPS with their own legislation.
Prof Tikendra further said that implementation of Inner Line Permit System is not anti-national, anti-constitutional or anti-State.
