Nominated Special Officer in WCCB

Imphal, June 26 2013:
Along with nomination of one of its trustees as a Special Officer in Wildlife Crime Control Bureau (WCCB), the Animal Welfare/Conservation Trust, PFA, Thoubal is all set to help the WCCB.
WCCB is a statuary body established by the Government of India under Ministry of Environment and Forests to combat crime associated with the wildlife in the country.
The nominated Special Officers will assist the field formations of bureau in performing their functions, pertaining to collection of information on wildlife crime and illegal wildlife trade.
In addition, the officers will also work for capacity building, sensitisation and public awareness on wildlife crime and related laws.
Meanwhile, PFA, Thoubal has rescued a Bengal Slow Loris from Nongpok Lourembam.
