KI-SH threatens state wide bandh

The Kuki Inpi Sadar Hills has threatened to impose a 48-hr state wide total bandh if the agreement signed with the Government with regard to the killing of two innocent Kukis at Bongbal Kholen in May last is not respected.
Speaking to this correspondent, Vice President of Kuki Inpi Sadar Hills Haopu Khongsai recalled that in connection with the killing of Seitinlal Kipgen and Tongsat Haokip in May last, KI-SH had an agreement with the state government for extending ex-gratia to the bereaved family within one week time.
However, even after one month, the Government is yet to implement the agreement into action.
Therefore, Kuki Inpi, Sadar Hills has decided to impose 48 hrs state wide total bandh any time if the government continues to disregard the agreement within the current month of June, Haopu said, adding that the bandh would also be followed by a series of intense agitations.
