Alleging failure of the Indira Gandhi National Tribal University, Amarkantak (MP) headquarters authority of failing to fulfil its demands, the Students' Union of IGNTU, RCM has closed down the Regional Campus, Manipur indefinitely since June 25 .
A statement issued by the Information and Publicity Secretary of IGNTUSU-RCM, Shanglai V said the campus would remain closed until the 'incompetent' VC is removed from his post and the legitimate demands of the students' union are fulfilled.
Immediate implementation of approved written ordinances and allocation of separate budget for RCM are, among others, the demands raised by IGNTUSU, according to the statement.
Immediate implementation of approved ordinances for RC and RD, approval and immediate implementation of a separate budget for the campus, reservation of 99 percent of seat for tribal, termination of the tenure of the incumbent VC and a written assurance from the concerned authority for the fulfilment of the demands are the conditions laid down by the IGNTUSU for reopening of the campus.
