Imphal, January 22, 2012:
Expressing concern over the recent spate of poll-related violence, Naga Women's Union (NWU) has observed it is not a good sign for a growing society like ours.
Violence would not help the situation in any way rather it would affect the faith of the people and their desire for peace, President of NWU Aram Pamei said in a statement.
Denouncing any form of violence and asking the people to seek political wisdom and acumen to rise above narrow politics and embrace a statesmanlike approach for the common good of all, NWU appealed to all for ensuring peaceful conduct of the election and allowing the people to exercise their voting rights in free and fair manner.
This is the time for the people to make their decision for their own future, the Naga women's body exhorted.
