Imphal, January 24, 2012:
Huge amount of cash is likely to flow into the state in connection with the ensuing 10th Manipur State Assembly Election scheduled on January 28, pointed out Manipur State Congress Party (MSCP) and has appealed to the Election Commission of India (ECI) and Chief Electoral Officers (CEO) to stay alert.
Addressing media persons at its office in Palace Compound today, Kh Devabrata, working President, MSCP, said that there are reports that almost all the national parties in the state are set to pour in huge amount of cash into the state.
There are also reports that these parties are already in the process of transporting cash in various constituencies in the hills.
As a part of this process, three women including the wife of a Trinamool Congress candidate was caught with a sum of Rs 10 lakhs by AR personnel from Jiribam on January 19 last.
He also appealed to the people of the state to stay away from all sorts of bribery in connection with the coming election and urged them to take video or audio recording of the act and hand it over to the ECI so that the perpetrators are punished accordingly.
Commenting on the motive of new political parties coming in the state in connection with the coming election, Kh Devabrata said that the works carried out by the NPF and AITC needs to be carefully monitored.
The NPF is here in the state with the agenda of Greater Nagaland.
Even though the party may not be successful in many of the constituencies, yet the few successful candidates will surely bring up the issue of disintegrating Manipur in pieces.
So there is the need of forming a law which prohibits any individual or party from speaking anything against Manipur on the floor of the House.
If the MSCP comes to power, it will initiate to establish such law at the earliest.
The AITC is also a party which will not do anything good for the state.
Mamata Bannerjee who is the leader of the AITC, had been the Union Minister for a couple of times.
During her time she had never done anything worthwhile for the state.
She even didn't care to raise her voice in regard to the territorial integrity of Manipur, human rights violation in the state and the issue of AFSPA.
