The Paomei Colony Village Authority has refuted the news report about distribution of pamphlets seeking votes in favour of a particular candidate, and subsequent arrest of one pamphleteer.
Speaking to media persons today, publicity and information secretary of the Paomei Colony Village Authority T Ayo said that a meeting of the village was held on January 14 and discussed about electing the best candidate from Wangkhei AC.
The resolutions of the meeting was put up in the Village Authority's notice board.
However, due to certain misinformation driven by narrow political outlook, village authority chairman Oinam Jayenta was arrested on the charge of distributing pamphlets.
The meeting did not take any resolution to support any particular candidate or mention any word which may harm the image of any candidate, Ayo clarified.
